    I am following with great concern the latest developments in Iran. We call for the full respect for international law and in particular for the protection of civilians. Only dialogue can bring peace, calm and stability.  

    I join with other EU leaders in calling on all parties to exercise restraint. In particular I share fully the concerns expressed by the Presidents of the European Commission  and the European Council in their joint statement today.
