The 14th EESC civil society prize will reward effective, innovative and creative initiatives carried out on the territory of the EU which support people with mental health conditions and promote an environment fostering mental well-being on an individual or collective basis. The deadline for submitting applications is 30 September 2023, 10 a.m. (CEST).

The EESC is pleased to announce the six winners of the 13th edition of the Civil Society Prize, rewarding initiatives which aim to create a better future for European youth and with European youth by tackling the specific needs of young people and contributing to their empowerment and participation in all spheres of economic and social life (category 1) and help civilians suffering as a result of the war in Ukraine (category 2).
5 organisations are awarded the 2021 EESC Civil Society Prize
The EESC is pleased to announce the five winners of the 12th edition of the Civil Society Prize, which rewards initiatives aimed at promoting a just transition towards a low-carbon and climate-resilient economy: Associació Catalana Enginyeria Sense Fronteres (Spain), Ateliere Fără Frontiere (Romania), Estonian Green Movement / Estonian Fund for Nature / Estonian Environmental Law Centre (Estonia), Grootouders voor het Klimaat (Belgium), Prostorož (Slovenia)
The European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) is pleased to announce the 23 winners of its Civil Solidarity Prize, a one-off contest launched as an alternative to the annual EESC Civil Society Prize to reward not-for-profit initiatives carried out by individuals, civil society organisations or private companies to tackle the COVID-19 crisis and its manifold consequences. The awards ceremony took place as a fully remote event on 15 February 2021.
The first prize went to Women's Toponymy, Italy.
2nd prize: Polish Women's Strike, Poland; 3rd prize: Fairy Tales, Bulgaria; 4th prize: #mimmitkooda (Women Code), Finland; 5th prize: The Brussels Binder, Belgium.
The EESC is pleased to announce the five winners of the 10th edition of the Civil Society Prize.
The first prize, of a value of 14.000 EUR, went to Tastes of Danube – Bread Connects (Germany).
2nd prize: SWANS initiative (Germany), 3rd prize: Eco-Museum by the social cooperative Aria Nuova (Italy), 4th prize: Safe Passage (UK), 5th prize: Balkans Beyond Borders short film festival (Greece).

5 organisations are awarded the 2017 EESC Civil Society Prize
The EESC is pleased to announce the five winners of the 9th edition of the Civil Society Prize, which rewards initiatives which aim at the labour market integration of newcomers and all the people who are distant from the labour market and require specific support.
The EESC civil society prize aims to reward model and inspiring projects that represent the best of human solidarity in Europe and which have demonstrated real impact on the ground by improving the lives of migrants and fostering their integration in European society.
The EESC received an unprecedented 284 applications from 27 countries and awarded 5 winning initiatives with a total of EUR 50,000. The Hungarian initiative was awarded EUR 14 000. The other four initiatives from Greece, Germany and Spain were awarded EUR 9 000 each.
