The European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) is the voice of organised civil society in Europe.

The EESC issues between 160 and 190 opinions, evaluation and information reports a year.
It also organises several annual initiatives and events with a focus on civil society and citizens’ participation such as the Civil Society Prize, the Civil Society Days, the Your Europe, Your Say youth plenary and the ECI Day.

The EESC brings together representatives from all areas of organised civil society, who give their independent advice on EU policies and legislation. The EESC's326 Members are organised into three groups: Employers, Workers and Various Interests.

Predstavljamo vam novo rubriko EESO info: Grem volit. Pa ti? V njej nam bodo gostje od decembra 2023 do junija 2024 pojasnjevali svoja stališča o tem, kako in zakaj se je treba udeležiti evropskih volitev. Naš prvi gost je Robert Sermek, vodja Pisarne Evropskega parlamenta za stike na Slovaškem.
Robert Sermek vodi ekipo sedmih ljudi in je odgovoren za izvajanje strategij Parlamenta za komuniciranje na nacionalni ravni ter za seznanjanje slovaških državljanov z delom Parlamenta in njegovih članov. V Evropskem parlamentu dela od leta 2007. Bil je vodja avdiovizualnih projektov med kampanjami komuniciranja za celotno EU pred evropskimi volitvami leta 2014 in 2019 ter odgovoren za uredniško usklajevanje avdiovizualnih storitev Parlamenta. Preden je postal član administracije EU, je delal kot novinar. Bil je dopisnik slovaške tiskovne agencije TASR in pozneje slovaškega radia v Bruslju, ko je poročal o ključni fazi pristopnih pogovorov Slovaške z EU in NATO.
