The European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) is the voice of organised civil society in Europe.

The EESC issues between 160 and 190 opinions and information reports a year.
It also organises several annual initiatives and events with a focus on civil society and citizens’ participation such as the Civil Society Prize, the Civil Society Days, the Your Europe, Your Say youth plenary and the ECI Day.

The EESC brings together representatives from all areas of organised civil society, who give their independent advice on EU policies and legislation. The EESC's326 Members are organised into three groups: Employers, Workers and Various Interests.

The EESC has six sections, specialising in concrete topics of relevance to the citizens of the European Union, ranging from social to economic affairs, energy, environment, external relations or the internal market.

Uvodimo novu rubriku u EGSO info: „Ja ću glasati. A ti?”, koja će se objavljivati od prosinca 2023. do lipnja 2024. U rubrici će gostovati osobe koje će nam govoriti o tome kako i zašto glasati na europskim izborima. Naš je prvi gost Robert Sermek, voditelj Ureda za vezu Europskog parlamenta u Slovačkoj.
Sa svojim sedmeročlanim timom Robert Sermek zadužen je za provedbu komunikacijskih strategija Parlamenta na nacionalnoj razini i za to da rad Parlamenta i zastupnika i zastupnica približava građanima i građankama Slovačke. U Europskom parlamentu radi od 2007. Bio je voditelj projekta za audiovizualne proizvode u komunikacijskim kampanjama na razini EU-a uoči europskih izbora 2014. i 2019. te urednički koordinator za audiovizualne usluge Parlamenta. Prije nego što se pridružio administraciji EU-a, radio je kao novinar i bio je dopisnik za slovačku novinsku agenciju TASR, a kasnije i za Slovački radio u Bruxellesu, u ključnom razdoblju pristupnih pregovora Slovačke s EU-om i NATO-om.
