The LMO has carried out activities in all the areas set out in its 2015-2018 Work programme. In line with its working methods, LMO's activities consisted mainly of public events, internal meetings and a project to assess the implementation of a Council Recommendation on the long-term unemployed in six EU Member States. Due to its large size and the limited number of meetings per year (5), the LMO has not prepared any opinion in recent years, although it did so in its earlier years.

Impact Study
The Labour Market Observatory carried out this study on youth employment in a selection of six member States: Austria, Croatia, Finland, Greece, Italy and Slovakia. This exercise gave national social partners and youth organisations an opportunity to put forward their comments and recommendations on topics such as the Youth guarantee, the transition from school to work, the traineeship and apprenticeship systems, the intra-EU mobility. Impact Study
In order to gain a better understanding - from the organised civil society’s point of view - of the implementation of the Services Directive in the construction sector, the Single Market Observatory (SMO) in cooperation with the Labour Market Observatory (LMO) carried out a pilot study in a number of Member States of the European Union (Belgium, France, Germany, Poland, Portugal and Romania).
