The European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) is the voice of organised civil society in Europe.

The EESC issues between 160 and 190 opinions, evaluation and information reports a year.
It also organises several annual initiatives and events with a focus on civil society and citizens’ participation such as the Civil Society Prize, the Civil Society Days, the Your Europe, Your Say youth plenary and the ECI Day.

The EESC brings together representatives from all areas of organised civil society, who give their independent advice on EU policies and legislation. The EESC's326 Members are organised into three groups: Employers, Workers and Various Interests.

The EESC has six sections, specialising in concrete topics of relevance to the citizens of the European Union, ranging from social to economic affairs, energy, environment, external relations or the internal market.

Den 13.-14. marts 2025 afholder Det Europæiske Økonomiske og Sociale Udvalg (EØSU) sit årlige ungdomsarrangement, Dit Europa, din mening! (YEYS), der samler mere end 130 deltagere fra hele Europa og tredjelande. Dette enestående arrangement samler gymnasieelever, repræsentanter for ungdomsorganisationer og delegerede fra nationale ungdomsråd i alderen 16-25 år fra alle 27 EU-medlemsstater, 9 kandidatlande og UK.
Med en række workshopper, paneler og debatter vil arrangementet udgøre en platform, hvor unge kan bidrage aktivt til udformningen af Europas fremtid. I år afholdes arrangementet under overskriften "En stemme til ungdommen", og deltagerne vil drøfte vigtige emner såsom bæredygtighed, social inklusion, digital omstilling m.m.
Resultaterne af disse drøftelser og de indsamlede erfaringer vil bidrage til EØSU's anden civilsamfundsuge, og de vil også blive præsenteret ved Det Europæiske Ungdomsarrangement (EYE) i juni 2025, der afholdes af Europa-Parlamentet i Strasbourg.
Arrangementet understreger betydningen af, at de unge engagerer sig i borgerinitiativer, deltagelsesdemokrati og udformningen af EU-politikker.
