The European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) is the voice of organised civil society in Europe.

The EESC issues between 160 and 190 opinions, evaluation and information reports a year.
It also organises several annual initiatives and events with a focus on civil society and citizens’ participation such as the Civil Society Prize, the Civil Society Days, the Your Europe, Your Say youth plenary and the ECI Day.

Til denne udgave af vores klumme "Forestil dig Ukraine..." har Tetyana Ogarkova, en ukrainsk journalist, litteraturkritiker og essayforfatter, valgt et billede af Antonovsky-broen fra august 2021. Hun kom i tanke om dette billede et år senere, den 11. november 2022, efter at broen var blevet ødelagt, da de sidste russiske tropper forlod Kherson by. Hun beskriver billedet således:
Antonovsky-broen i Kherson-regionen
"Dette billede af Antonovsky-broen fra 2021 giver indtryk af at være taget i en helt anden verden. På billedet ser man den vestlige bred af Dnipro-floden i Kherson i det sydlige Ukraine. Vi elsker vores smukke land og vores vidunderlige Kherson-region. Vi skriver den 11. november 2022. Det er en fantastisk dag i dag. Man kan ikke betragte denne bro i Kherson uden at få tårer i øjnene. Denne strategiske bro er styrtet sammen, men Kherson by er langt om længe befriet. Men der er stadig mange andre byer i Kherson-regionen, der venter på at blive befriet. Og alt skal genopbygges. Men det skal nok gå alt sammen. Vi tror på Ukraines væbnede styrker, og vi støtter vores frihedskæmpere. En dag vender vi definitivt tilbage til Kherson-regionen. Og Antonovsky-broen vil blive genopført og rejse sig på ny."
