The European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) is the voice of organised civil society in Europe.

The EESC issues between 160 and 190 opinions and information reports a year.
It also organises several annual initiatives and events with a focus on civil society and citizens’ participation such as the Civil Society Prize, the Civil Society Days, the Your Europe, Your Say youth plenary and the ECI Day.

The EESC brings together representatives from all areas of organised civil society, who give their independent advice on EU policies and legislation. The EESC's326 Members are organised into three groups: Employers, Workers and Various Interests.

I dette afsnit ser vi nærmere på økologisk landbrug, økologisk produktion og økologiske madvaner med udgangspunkt i de første EU-priser for økologi. Priserne blev i september 2022 uddelt til otte europæiske organisationer, der hver især udmærker sig i deres respektive led af den økologiske fødevarekæde: fra bedste økologiske landbrug og region til bedste økologiske SMV og restaurant. Hvordan ser det ud med hensyn til at nå EU's mål om, at 25 % af landbrugsjorden senest i 2030 skal være omstillet til økologisk drift? Er økologiske fødevarer med til at garantere fødevaresikkerhed og fødevarer til overkommelige priser i en tid med energi- og priskrise? Hvis ja, hvordan?
