Evropski ekonomsko-socialni odbor je v dveh nedavno sprejetih mnenjih predstavil posodobljena stališča o letnem pregledu trajnostne rasti za leto 2022, v katerem je Komisija opisala prihodnje prednostne naloge EU na področju ekonomske politike in politike zaposlovanja, ter o priporočilih o ekonomski politiki euroobmočja za leto 2022. Zavzema se za uravnotežen pristop, ki ne bo ogrozil socialnih in okoljskih ciljev EU.
EESO poudarja, da bi bilo treba zaradi naraščanja cen energije in hrane vzpostaviti socialno varnostno mrežo za najranljivejše. Evropska centralna banka bi morala glede na rekordno visoko inflacijo analizirati stranske učinke svoje denarne politike, na primer na rast in zaposlovanje. Zaradi povečanja javnega dolga je potreben napredek pri reformi Pakta za stabilnost in rast.
„Zavzemamo se za uravnotežen politični pristop, ki bo zaščitil pravičnost in okoljske cilje, zlasti v kriznih razmerah,“ je povedala Judith Vorbach, poročevalka za dodatno mnenje o letnem pregledu trajnostne rasti za leto 2022. „Ta pristop je podlaga za preteklo, sedanjo in prihodnjo blaginjo in konkurenčnost EU ter za večjo konvergenco in odpornost.“
Juraj Sipko, poročevalec za dodatno mnenje o ekonomski politiki euroobmočja 2022, je k temu dodal: „Skupaj si moramo prizadevati za obvladovanje sistemskih pretresov, s katerimi se trenutno sooča svet in kakršnih doslej še ni bilo. Odlašanje s sprejetjem in izvajanjem ukrepov ima lahko daljnosežne posledice, ne le v smislu materialnih izgub, temveč predvsem za človeška življenja.“ (tk)
