Tackling non-performing loans in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic

The Section for Economic and Monetary Union and Economic and Social Cohesion (ECO) of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) is currently working on an opinion on the new European Commission action plan 'Tackling non-performing loans in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic'.

In the framework of the work on this opinion, the ECO section decided to organise a hearing to discuss the action plan and to collect the views of various organisations on the topic. The EESC intends to use the findings and conclusions of the event to feed into the final version of the EESC opinion.

The event will take place on 15 February 2021 from 14.30 to 17.30 with the participation of the EESC study group working on this EESC opinion and with a group of panellists who represent a wide range of civil society organisations.

The public hearing will take place both online and at the premises of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) in Brussels. Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, only EESC members and speakers will be allowed to be physically present in the meeting room. Other participants are welcome to follow the event via the webstream.
