European Economic
and Social Committee
Civil society at the heart of Europe
Civil Society at the Heart of Europe presents the EESC’s vision and priorities under President Séamus Boland (2025–2028). The brochure outlines how the Committee will work to build a Union of opportunities, security and resilience.
It highlights efforts to eradicate poverty, combat social exclusion and support youth participation, while defending democracy, civic freedoms and media independence across Europe. The EESC also promotes sustainable growth and fair transitions, advancing the Green and Blue Deals and strengthening Europe’s resilience to social, environmental and economic challenges.
Together, these actions reaffirm the Committee’s mission: to keep civil society at the heart of the European project, ensuring that every voice contributes to a more inclusive, secure and sustainable future for the EU.
