Meta l-Ewropa ntlaqtet mill-COVID-19, din ma wasslitx biss lill-isptarijiet f’xifer il-kollass iżda ħolqot kaos sħiħ fuq ħafna fronti differenti: il-PDG Ewropew naqas ħafna, il-produzzjoni industrijali ħadet tisbita u eluf tilfu xogħolhom. Il-futur ma jidhrix li se jkun pożittiv. F’episodju 8 – “Meta d-dinja tax-xogħol tikkollassa” – nagħtu ħarsa lejn dak li l-UE tista’ tagħmel fuq il-front tal-impjiegi, fejn għandha biss setgħat limitati. Tkellimna mal-Professur Caroline de la Porte mill-Copenhagen Business School, li tatna stampa ġenerali fil-qosor tal-linji gwida dwar l-impjiegi, għodda li tippermetti lill-UE tgħin fil-koordinazzjoni tal-politiki dwar l-impjiegi tal-Istati Membri. Il-membru tal-KESE Ellen Nygren kellmitna dwar il-proposta tal-KESE dwar kif il-linji gwida dwar l-impjiegi għandhom jiġu riveduti fid-dawl tal-kriżi tal-COVID-19 sabiex jiġi żgurat li l-Istati Membri, fost affarijiet oħra, jipprovdu l-għajnuna lill-Ewropej li jaħdmu għal rashom – bħall-mużiċista Portugiż, Tiago Rodrigues. Dan qasam magħna l-esperjenza tiegħu dwar kif hu u l-grupp tiegħu, 5EX, sabu ruħhom mingħajr impjieg minn jum għall-ieħor.
