Following the recent decision by Tunisian President Kais Saied to prolong the suspension of parliamentary activities until the next general elections in December 2022:
We strongly support the commitment of the people of Tunisia to democracy, to the constitution and to a well-functioning and legitimate parliament. The return to a normal functioning of state institutions and the restoration of institutional stability should take place as soon as possible, without any further suspension of parliamentary activities.
