The European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) is the voice of organised civil society in Europe.

The EESC issues between 160 and 190 opinions, evaluation and information reports a year.
It also organises several annual initiatives and events with a focus on civil society and citizens’ participation such as the Civil Society Prize, the Civil Society Days, the Your Europe, Your Say youth plenary and the ECI Day.

The EESC brings together representatives from all areas of organised civil society, who give their independent advice on EU policies and legislation. The EESC's326 Members are organised into three groups: Employers, Workers and Various Interests.

Skupina poslodavaca EGSO-a
Otkako je uspostavljeno jedinstveno europsko tržište, usklađivanje i uzajamno priznavanje normi omogućili su poduzećima da svoje proizvode prodaju na tržištu s više od 450 milijuna ljudi. Na njemu se odvija 61 % trgovine poduzeća unutar EU-a. Ono je temelj gospodarskog prosperiteta Europe i donosi koristi građanima, potrošačima, radnicima i poduzećima. Europska komisija procjenjuje da je unutarnje tržište zaslužno za 25 % BDP-a EU-a.
Međutim, nova kretanja, kao što su digitalna transformacija i prelazak na održivije gospodarstvo s manjim emisijama ugljika, ali i promjenjive potrebe potrošača, zaposlenika i poduzeća te nove geopolitičke okolnosti iziskuju nove prilagodbe.
Uspješan daljnji razvoj jedinstvenog tržišta iziskuje poboljšanja u nekoliko područja, uključujući europsku energetsku i industrijsku politiku, energetsku uniju, bankovnu uniju, povoljniji okvir za velika i mala poduzeća te veću javnu potporu europskom projektu, učinkovitije javne usluge i poboljšanu infrastrukturu za sektor informacijskih tehnologija, energetike i prometa.
Imajući u vidu dva ključna izvješća bivših talijanskih premijera Enrica Lette (o budućnosti jedinstvenog tržišta) i Marija Draghija (o budućnosti europske konkurentnosti), koja će biti objavljena u prvoj polovici 2024., EGSO-ova Skupina poslodavaca sažela je svoje ključne poruke za uspješnu budućnost unutarnjeg tržišta EU-a u kratkom dokumentu „Jedinstveno tržište EU-a: sljedeća generacija”.
