Greek national strike: Letter of solidarity from the EESC Workers' Group

We would like to express our full support on the occasion of the national strike announced by the Greek General Confederation of Labour on 20^th November 2024 to demand concrete measures to address the cost-of-living crisis, unaffordable housing conditions, and the need to restore Collective Agreements.

The Greek government is failing its workers and citizens by not listening to their outcry, as skyrocketing prices and persistently low wages have made the costs of living and housing unbearable. Our full solidarity is with them, who will be calling on the Greek government on that day, and every day, to act on their demands for wage increases, improved working conditions, affordable and social housing initiatives, for reinstating free collective bargaining for the determination of the minimum wage in Greece.

Greek workers, and all workers, deserve a dignified quality of life.
