The European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) is the voice of organised civil society in Europe.

The EESC issues between 160 and 190 opinions, evaluation and information reports a year.
It also organises several annual initiatives and events with a focus on civil society and citizens’ participation such as the Civil Society Prize, the Civil Society Days, the Your Europe, Your Say youth plenary and the ECI Day.

The EESC brings together representatives from all areas of organised civil society, who give their independent advice on EU policies and legislation. The EESC's326 Members are organised into three groups: Employers, Workers and Various Interests.

Pripravila skupina organizacij civilne družbe
Kakšna je vloga organizacij civilne družbe pri ohranjanju in krepitvi evropske demokracije? Kakšno je stanje v odnosih med organizacijami civilne družbe in nosilci odločanja? Zakaj je to pomembno in kaj se lahko naučimo iz dobrih praks v državah članicah EU?
Skupina organizacij civilne družbe bo 30. marca poskusila odgovoriti na ta in druga vprašanja skupaj s predstavniki evropskih institucij in organizacij civilne družbe na svoji konferenci z naslovom „Organizacije civilne družbe, ki branijo in krepijo evropsko demokracijo“.
Hibridni dogodek bo organiziran, preden bo Evropska komisija objavila sveženj za obrambo demokracije in pregled izvajanja Akcijskega načrta za evropsko demokracijo, ter bo doprinesel k razpravi o teh vprašanjih.
Konferenca bo potekala 30. marca od 9.15 do 13.00. Dogodka se bo mogoče udeležiti v prostorih EESO v Bruslju ali prek spleta prek platforme za videokonference (Interactio). Rok za prijavo je 26. marec.
Spletni prenos bo na spletni strani dogodka brez predhodne prijave na voljo v angleščini, francoščini in nemščini.
