The European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) is the voice of organised civil society in Europe.

The EESC issues between 160 and 190 opinions, evaluation and information reports a year.
It also organises several annual initiatives and events with a focus on civil society and citizens’ participation such as the Civil Society Prize, the Civil Society Days, the Your Europe, Your Say youth plenary and the ECI Day.

The EESC brings together representatives from all areas of organised civil society, who give their independent advice on EU policies and legislation. The EESC's326 Members are organised into three groups: Employers, Workers and Various Interests.

EESO se pripravlja na letni dogodek Vaša Evropa, vaš glas! (YEYS!), na katerem bodo dijaki iz vse Evrope komentirali svoje aktivno državljanstvo v participativni demokraciji.
Vaša Evropa, vaš glas! (YEYS!) bo organiziran že štirinajstič in to po treh letih spet s fizično udeležbo. Pod naslovom „Dialogi mladih o demokraciji“ bo potekal 23. in 24. marca 2023.
Glede na to, da bo dogodek sledil letu, ki so ga zaznamovali kriza v Ukrajini, grožnje miroljubnim režimom ter nepredvidljivi družbeni in gospodarski izzivi, ki vodijo do sistemskih sprememb, bo osredotočen na to, kako ozaveščati o demokratičnih vrednotah, hkrati pa spodbujati kritično mišljenje ter opolnomočenje in udeležbo mladih.
Dijaki in dijakinje bodo dva dni sodelovali v sklopu delavnic in interaktivnih dejavnosti, da bi na koncu pripravili priporočila, ki bodo predložena evropskim institucijam ter evropskim oblikovalcem politik in nosilcem odločanja na visoki ravni.
Prijaviti se je bilo mogoče do 6. decembra, in sicer so to lahko storile šole iz vseh držav članic EU in sedmih držav kandidatk (Albanije, Moldavije, Republike Severne Makedonije, Črne gore, Srbije, Turčije in Ukrajine).
Z žrebom bo izbrana po ena šola iz vsake države, zmagovalci pa se bodo udeležili dvodnevnega dogodka, katerega del se bo prenašal tudi prek družbenih medijev EESO.
Člani EESO bodo pred dogodkom obiskali vse izbrane šole ter dijake in učitelje pripravili na dogodek Vaša Evropa, vaš glas!. Ti obiski bodo potekali fizično ali na daljavo januarja ali februarja 2023. Šole bodo pred obiskom prejele dokumentacijo in pedagoško gradivo. (ck)
