The Liaison Group is concerned at the shortcomings of Europe 2020, in particular the failure of the European Union to: (i) tackle poverty and social exclusion, a target where the situation has regressed since the strategy was launched; (ii) promote social rights as a priority in its economic policy; and (iii) provide sufficient space for structured dialogue with organised civil society that will have a tangible impact and make tangible contributions to the European Semester process.
