The European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) is the voice of organised civil society in Europe.

The EESC issues between 160 and 190 opinions, evaluation and information reports a year.
It also organises several annual initiatives and events with a focus on civil society and citizens’ participation such as the Civil Society Prize, the Civil Society Days, the Your Europe, Your Say youth plenary and the ECI Day.

The EESC brings together representatives from all areas of organised civil society, who give their independent advice on EU policies and legislation. The EESC's326 Members are organised into three groups: Employers, Workers and Various Interests.

The EESC has six sections, specialising in concrete topics of relevance to the citizens of the European Union, ranging from social to economic affairs, energy, environment, external relations or the internal market.

Il-Presidenza Franċiża tal-Kunsill tal-Unjoni Ewropea tinsab f’mument deċiżiv, fi żmien meta l-Unjoni Ewropea qed tiffaċċja bosta sfidi tas-saħħa, soċjali, ekonomiċi u ambjentali.
Fost il-prijoritajiet prinċipali tagħha hemm l-ambizzjoni ta’ Ewropa aktar sovrana fir-rigward tal-migrazzjoni, tad-difiża u tal-politika tal-viċinat, flimkien ma’ għanijiet prinċipali oħra, bħall-bini ta’ mudell Ewropew ġdid li jgħaqqad id-dimensjonijiet ekonomiċi, ambjentali u soċjali, jew it-tisħiħ tas-sens tagħna ta’ sħubija komuni, ir-raġuni għalfejn jeżisti l-proġett Ewropew u l-kwistjoni fil-qalba tal-konferenza dwar il-futur tal-Ewropa. Matul il-Presidenza tagħha tal-Kunsill tal-Unjoni Ewropea, Franza beħsiebha tisma’ b’attenzjoni liż-żgħażagħ, li fl-2022 se jkun fl-ewwel post minħabba s-Sena Ewropea taż-Żgħażagħ.
Determinat li jikkoopera mill-qrib mal-Presidenza Franċiża u li jsemma leħen l-organizzazzjonijiet tas-soċjetà ċivili Ewropea, il-Kumitat Ekonomiku u Soċjali Ewropew jinsab kuntent bil-possibbiltà li jaħdem magħha sabiex iwettaq Unjoni Ewropea b’saħħitha u qrib iċ-ċittadini tagħha. Dan il-fuljett jippreżenta l-attivitajiet u l-inizjattivi prinċipali li l-KESE se jwettaq biex jappoġġja l-isforzi ta’ din il-Presidenza.
