    EESC opinion: Specific provisions for the 2014-2020 cooperation programmes supported by the European Neighbourhood Instrument and under the European territorial cooperation goal, following programme implementation disruption
  • High-level officials from the European External Action Service (EEAS), members of the European Parliament (EP), and a representative from the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) convened in Kiev for the 3rd Association Exchange Forum. Together they discussed recent achievements and shared experiences, best practices and lessons learnt regarding AAs, institutional set-ups, implementation monitoring issues and civil society involvement. Dr. Istvan Komoroczki, EESC chairman of the EU-Georgia Civil Society Platform from the Employers Group, also took part in the Forum.

  • The third meeting of the EU-Moldova Civil Society Platform (CSP), held on 6 March in Brussels, also discussed the planned extension of Ukrainian hydroelectric plants on the upper Dniester which might have devastating consequences on the Moldovan population and environment.

     

  • The first meeting of the EU-Moldova Domestic Advisory Group (DAG) in the new 2023-25 term, will take place on 8 December 2023. The DAG will elect a new chair, discuss the progress in implementing the Trade and Sustainable Development Chapter and make proposals for a work programme for the new term.

  • The 12th meeting of the EU-Moldova Civil Society Platform took place in Chisinau, Moldova, on 1 September 2023. During the meeting, a debate focused on assessing the progresses of Moldova in the implementation of the Association Agreement and the European Commission's recommendations regarding its accession to the EU.

    The Platform looked at progresses and challenges in reforming the justice sector, implementing human rights commitments, enhancing gender equality, and fighting violence against women, as well as in implementing commitments in economic, social and public administration reforms, including work motivation and negotiation of the minimum wage increase.

    Furthermore, the participants discussed the role of Moldovan civil society organisations in human development capital and proposals for enhancing the dialogue with civil society.

    A joint declaration, prepared by both sides, was discussed and adopted.

  • The 11th meeting of the EU-Moldova Civil Society Platform took place on 30 March 2023. During the meeting, a debate focused on assessing the progresses of Moldova in the implementation of the European Commission recommendations regarding its accession to the EU, as well as the state of play of the implementation of the EU-Moldova Association Agreement.

  • Joint meeting

    Representatives of the two Domestic Advisory Groups (DAG) from the EU and Moldova, established under Chapter 13 on Trade and Sustainable Development (TSD) of the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement between the Republic of Moldova and the European Union, held the seventh joint meeting on 7 March 2023. The objective of the meeting was to prepare a set of recommendations for the Civil Society Forum, which will take place on 17 March 2023.

  • The 10th meeting of the EU-Moldova Civil Society Platform took place in Chisinau, Moldova, on 10 November 2022. During the meeting, a debate focused on assessing the progresses of Moldova in the implementation of the European Commission recommendations regarding its accession to the EU, as well as the state of play of the implementation of the EU-Moldova Association Agreement.

    The Platform also discussed the 2022 developments in the anti-corruption field, the impact of regional and global crises on the social-economic situation in Moldova, and participation of the Trade Unions and Employers' Associations in EU-funded projects.

    A joint declaration, prepared by both sides, was discussed and adopted.

  • The 8th meeting of the EU-Moldova Civil Society Platform took place on 28 October 2021 in the format of a videoconference. During the meeting, a debate focused on assessing the state of play of the implementation of the EU-Moldova Association Agreement. The social dialogue and prospects for the future in Moldova were also discussed as well as the minimum wage mechanism.
