COOPERATION OF THE EESC WITH THE CYPRIOT PRESIDENCY OF THE COUNCIL OF THE EU

This report summarises EESC achievements during the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the EU (January to June 2026). The EESC and the Cypriot Presidency developed a strong and productive partnership which resulted in 13 exploratory opinions on key issues affecting citizens, including housing, energy poverty, water resilience and social inclusion. High-level political exchanges, active participation in EESC activities and cultural initiatives further strengthened ties. The collaboration demonstrated the value of involving civil society in EU policymaking and contributed to promoting a more resilient, inclusive and citizen-focused Europe.
