From the EU Blue Deal to global water action | CCMI Conference Highlights

On 15 September 2026, ahead of the 2026 UN Water Conference, to be held in December in Abu Dhabi, the European Economic and Social Committee organised a conference "From the EU Blue Deal to the Water Resilience Strategy and beyond – European civil society contributions to the UN Water Conference" . The event aimed to present the EESC's key recommendations on the EU Blue Deal and the UN Water Conference, as set out in its recently adopted opinion, 'The EESC's contribution to the 2026 UN Water Conference', to integrate civil society perspectives into the EU's preparations for the conference, and to foster dialogue between civil society organisations, EU institutions, and the EESC. The conferences were organized by the Consultative Commission on Industrial Change, led by President Alain Coheur.
