Aim of the panel: to explore the main elements of the EU strategy on the full integration of older people.

Specific issues to be addressed:

  • what specific measures should an EU agenda for older people support beyond the EU's care strategies, including the European strategy for older people, the European Year of Age, a convention on the rights of older people, etc.?
  • what policy tools can be designed to generate/foster a society of active and healthy older people, in the context of longevity?
  • where and how should the issue of ageing be integrated into other European policies?
