Il-KESE u d-DĠ ECFIN organizzaw konferenza online dwar il-qafas ta’ governanza ekonomika tal-UE bħala parti mid-dibattitu pubbliku relatat. L-avveniment kellu l-għan li jinvolvi lis-soċjetà ċivili bil-ħsieb li jinbena kunsens dwar il-futur tal-qafas ta’ governanza ekonomika.
Il-President tal-KESE Christa Schweng fetħet billi ddikjarat li “minflok ritorn għan-normal, aħna nirrakkomandaw bidla għal qafas ta’ governanza ekonomika rivedut u bilanċjat mill-ġdid orjentat lejn il-prosperità.” Hija enfasizzat ukoll il-ħtieġa li jiġu involuti l-partijiet interessati ewlenin kollha, inklużi l-organizzazzjonijiet tas-soċjetà ċivili. Imbagħad segwa l-Kummissarju għall-Ekonomija, Paolo Gentiloni, li ddikjara li “il-bini ta’ kunsens fil-ħin għall-2023 mhux se jkun biċċa xogħol faċli, iżda rridu naħtfu din l-opportunità unika biex nallinjaw ir-regoli fiskali tagħna mal-ambizzjoni tagħna għal tkabbir b’saħħtu, sostenibbli u inklużiv fl-Ewropa”. Il-Membru tal-Parlament Ewropew Margarida Marques imbagħad ippreżentat ir-rapport tal-PE dwar ir-reviżjoni tal-qafas leġiżlattiv makroekonomiku, u kienet segwita minn diskussjoni tal-panel. L-aħħar parti kienet iddedikata għal kif qafas ta’ governanza ekonomika mġedded jista’ jsolvi l-isfida tad-diskrepanza fl-investiment sabiex tinkiseb it-tranżizzjoni doppja. Ir-relatur tal-KESE Dominika Biegon ippreżentat l-Opinjoni fuq inizjattiva proprja tagħha dwar “Riforma tal-qafas fiskali tal-Unjoni Ewropea għal irkupru sostenibbli u tranżizzjoni ġusta”. (tk)
