European Consumer Day 2024

The topic of the European Consumer Day 2024, the annual event of the INT section (Single market, Production and Consumption) of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) was "Water challenges: Exploring consumer perspective - Moving ahead on the EU Blue Deal". Discussions were held in two consecutive panels focusing on:

• protecting consumer rights: ensuring access to water at an affordable price, including vulnerable consumers, touching also upon transparency of water bills and the aspects of water quality and quantity;
• water-efficient consumption: shifting consumer habits in order to make water consumption more sustainable, using innovative tools and technology.
