EUROCHAMBRES & the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry

In reaction to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) has taken measures and actions to adequately keep business circles informed.

The BCCI counts on ongoing dialogue with the government since health is crucial but the survival of businesses is also very important and the economy should not stop. The BCCI has measured the impact of the coronavirus crisis through two surveys and has also developed more than 25 specific measures to tackle the negative impact of COVID-19, which were sent to the Bulgarian authorities.

The BCCI advises member companies on how to manage everyday work in quarantine as employers and how to instruct employees, including implementing flexible working time and remote work as a precaution.

The BCCI provides electronic services to companies – for issuing certificates of origin, force majeure certificates, ATA carnets, certificates from the trade register, registration, demand/supply inquiries, consultations, translation of documents, etc.

The BCCI is providing regular information for companies regarding the recommendations of the WHO, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Bulgaria through its info channels.

Furthermore, several other activities have been launched as a response to COVID-19 through EUROCHAMBRES (ECH) and across the Chambers network:

1. We continue to update the ECH COVID-19 public webpage that showcases the efforts and the actions of ECH and of the Chamber network in response to the COVID-19 crisis, available at https://bit.ly/COVID-19Platform.

Among the latest updates in the ECH section you can find, in addition to the ECH submissions, the interviews that have been given by the chairs of the Committees on Skills and Global Europe.

2. The members' ECH platform has been regularly updated with various ECH and Chamber network documents, plus the most relevant institutional publications. In this folder the shared documents that have been constantly updated with information about the situation in each country have been published.
