Nhar il-Ħadd, 28 ta’ Mejju 2023 il-Kumitat ingħaqad mal-istituzzjonijiet l-oħra tal-UE fil-ġirja għall-karità f’waħda mill-aktar attivitajiet sportivi popolari tal-belt kapitali Belġjana, fit-43 edizzjoni tagħha.
L-avveniment, ċelebrazzjoni ta’ sport fost iċ-ċittadini, laqqgħet flimkien aktar minn 40 000 persuna minn 89 pajjiż differenti li ġrew jew imxew f’dan l-avveniment.
It-tim tal-UE ġabar fondi għall-promotur tad-drittijiet tal-bniedem, Amnesty International.
Il-Viċi President tal-KESE għall-Komunikazzjoni Laurenţiu Plosceanu ta bidu għar-raba’ blokk tat-tellieqa, flimkien mal-President tal-Parlament Ewropew Roberta Metsola u r-rappreżentant tal-Kummissjoni Ewropea Stefaan De Rynck.
Is-Sur Plosceanu enfasizza l-preżenza dinamika tal-istituzzjonijiet tal-UE fl-avveniment bħala difensuri tad-demokrazija u d-drittijiet tal-bniedem, u ddeskriva l-folla bħala “tsunami ta’ 40 000 ċittadin, li qed jiġru favur il-paċi, id-demokrazija, id-drittijiet tal-bniedem u l-valuri tal-UE”.
L-Assoċjazzjoni tat-Trainees tal-KESE b’60 membru ħadet sehem fit-tellieqa biex jinġabru fondi għall-veterani tal-gwerra fl-Ukrajna b’kollaborazzjoni mal-NGO ‘Promote Ukraine’ u l-Kunsill Nazzjonali għar-Riabilitazzjoni bl-Isport. Il-fondi se jintużaw biex jiffinanzjaw programmi ta’ riabilitazzjoni.
L-avveniment ġie organizzat mis-Syndicat d'Initiative - Bruxelles Promotion 1886, u fih ipparteċipa wkoll il-Prim Ministru Belġjan Alexander De Croo, li ġera f’isem is-Soċjetà tas-Salib l-Aħmar Belġjana. (at)
