The EESC issues between 160 and 190 opinions, evaluation and information reports a year.

Digitalne financije treba hitno regulirati, a Europska komisija u tome je na pravom putu. To je glavna poruka triju mišljenja EGSO-a usvojenih na plenarnom zasjedanju u veljači, kojima Odbor podržava najnovije prijedloge Komisije za reguliranje digitalnog financijskog sektora.
U mišljenju koje su sastavili Petru Sorin Dandea i Jörg Freiherr Frank von Fürstenwerth Odbor podržava prijedlog Komisije o strategiji za digitalne financije i ističe da ne smijemo bježati od rješavanja glavnih problema financijskog sektora EU-a koji su posljedica digitalizacije. Naime, digitalizacija donosi brojne prilike, ali i rizike koji se ne smiju zanemariti i iziskuju brzo djelovanje.
Na istoj valnoj dužini je i mišljenje čiji je autor Giuseppe Guerini. U njemu EGSO podržava dvije inicijative Komisije o tržištima kriptoimovine i o pilot-režimu za tržišne infrastrukture koje se temelje na tehnologiji decentraliziranog vođenja evidencije transakcija (DLT). U tom su području hitno potrebne mjere kojima će se urediti pitanja u vezi s tom tehnologijom koja je sve raširenija, ima sve više praktičnih primjena i koja se stalno i brzo mijenja.
Na kraju, u mišljenju koje je sastavio Antonio García del Riego Odbor daje potporu prijedlogu Komisije o digitalnoj operativnoj otpornosti (DORA) jer se njime želi dati pravna jasnoća odredbama koje se primjenjuju u slučaju rizika u području informacijskih i komunikacijskih tehnologija (IKT), smanjiti regulatorna složenost, uspostaviti zajednički standardi za ublažavanje rizika za IKT i olakšati usklađeni pristup nadzoru. Osim toga, tim se prijedlogom nastoji pružiti pravna sigurnost i potrebne zaštitne mjere za financijska poduzeća i pružatelje usluga IKT-a. (mp)
