The European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) is the voice of organised civil society in Europe.

The EESC issues between 160 and 190 opinions, evaluation and information reports a year.
It also organises several annual initiatives and events with a focus on civil society and citizens’ participation such as the Civil Society Prize, the Civil Society Days, the Your Europe, Your Say youth plenary and the ECI Day.

The EESC brings together representatives from all areas of organised civil society, who give their independent advice on EU policies and legislation. The EESC's326 Members are organised into three groups: Employers, Workers and Various Interests.

Tijekom sljedećih mjeseci učenici i učenice srednjih škola diljem Europe pripremat će se za razmjenu ideja o tome kako se boriti protiv dezinformacija u Europi. U ožujku će odabrati najpopularnije ideje koje će predstaviti čelnicima i čelnicama EU-a.
„Istina o lažima. Mladi se odupiru dezinformacijama“ naziv je EGSO-ova 13. vodećeg događanja za mlade „Tvoja Europa, tvoje mišljenje“ (YEYS).
Za sudjelovanje na događanju YEYS 2022. prijavila se 561 srednja škola iz 27 država članica EU-a i pet država kandidatkinja (Albanija, Crna Gora, Sjeverna Makedonija, Srbija i Turska). Krajnji rok za prijave bio je 2. prosinca 2021. Škole sudionice, po jedna iz svake zemlje, odabrane su ždrijebom 9. prosinca 2021. Popis odabranih škola dostupan je na internetu.
Rasprave će se održati na daljinu 31. ožujka i 1. travnja 2022. EGSO aktivno radi na pripremama za doček 99 učenika i učenica i njihovih nastavnika i nastavnica.
Najkasnije sredinom siječnja 2022. članovi i članice EGSO-a u svojstvu mentora i mentorica počet će obilaziti odabrane škole kako bi učenicima i učenicama pomogli da se pripreme za glavne sjednice.
Svrha je događanja informirati mlade o opasnostima koje donosi dezinformiranje i potaknuti ih da postanu aktivniji u borbi protiv lažnih vijesti.
YEYS 2022. smatra se jednim od glavnih događanja za mlade u okviru Europske godine mladih 2022. (ck)
