The European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) is the voice of organised civil society in Europe.

The EESC issues between 160 and 190 opinions, evaluation and information reports a year.
It also organises several annual initiatives and events with a focus on civil society and citizens’ participation such as the Civil Society Prize, the Civil Society Days, the Your Europe, Your Say youth plenary and the ECI Day.

The EESC brings together representatives from all areas of organised civil society, who give their independent advice on EU policies and legislation. The EESC's326 Members are organised into three groups: Employers, Workers and Various Interests.

U rubrici „U žiži” pozdravljamo Diandru Ní Bhuachallu, koja će predstavljati Europski gospodarski i socijalni odbor kao mlada izaslanica EGSO-a na samitima COP-a 2023. i 2024.
Diandra Ní Bhuachalla bit će predstavnica mladih u izaslanstvu EGSO-a na zasjedanjima COP28 i COP29. Ona je i globalna ambasadorica budućih naraštaja u Uredu povjerenika za buduće generacije za Wales i organizaciji Foundations for Tomorrow, članica UNESCO-ove mreže za mlade i studente i suradnica za razgovore o zajedničkoj budućnosti pri centru za strateško promišljanje Chatham House. Diandra je bila izaslanica mladih pri Ujedinjenim narodima za Irsku u razdoblju 2021. – 2022., a sada u suradnji s Nacionalnim vijećem mladih Irske koordinira programe Ujedinjenih naroda i Delegata mladih za klimu. Zagovaranjem se bavi već 12 godina na lokalnoj, nacionalnoj i međunarodnoj razini, s naglaskom na rodnoj ravnopravnosti, kvalitetnom obrazovanju, klimatskoj pravdi, miru i sigurnosti. Diandra Ní Bhuachalla završila je dodiplomski studij javne uprave (s pohvalom) i prava te diplomski studij međunarodne javne politike i diplomacije na Sveučilištu u Corku.
