Official visit to Malta

Ahead of the 2017 Maltese Presidency of the EU, the President of the European Economic and Social Committee, Georges Dassis, will meet with top Maltese decision-makers to present European civil society's contribution to the Maltese EU Presidency.

 

On 2 November, Mr Dassis, together with Maltese EESC Members, will meet:

  • H.E. Marie Louise Coleiro Preca, President of the Republic of Malta,
  • Mr Joseph Muscat, Prime Minister, and Dr Ian Borg, Parliamentary Secretary for the EU Presidency 2017 and EU Funds,
  • Dr Helena Dalli, Minister for Social Dialogue, Consumer Affairs and Civil Liberties

 

 

On 3 November, the EESC delegation will meet Members of the Maltese House of Representatives and Dr Simon Busuttil, Leader of the Opposition in Malta.

 

Over the three days, the delegation will also hold meetings with:

  • the Malta Council for Economic and Social Development (MCESD),
  • the Malta Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry,
  • the General Workers' Union,
  • the European Asylum Support Office (EASO)
