The role of organised civil society in improving financial literacy: existing initiatives and public policies
In the context of the creation of a Savings and Investments Union that benefits EU citizens, financial literacy positions as an enabler. In this debate we put-together the voices of the European Commission and local organisations to exchange on their projects and policy proposals.
The topics discussed include an updated overview on the implementation of the Financial Literacy Strategy, and the initiatives of the German Association of Saving Banks, the Italian trade union ‘First CSIL’ and the youth organisation ‘Young Economists’. The debate also looked for a tangible response to the key question ‘what do organisations need from policymakers for a greater impact’.
