  • On 9 May, Europeans will celebrate Europe Day. 2025 marks the 75th anniversary of the Schuman Declaration, which laid the foundations for the European Union and paved the way for an unprecedented era of prosperity, peace, democracy, solidarity and cooperation in Europe.

  • At its April 2025 plenary session, the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) adopted an opinion that aims to reshape how the EU’s economic governance works, putting people and participation at its core. The EESC wants national and EU-level economic decisions to better reflect real-life needs, and to be built on inclusive dialogue with civil society, trade unions and employers’ organisations.

  • La ora actuală, când UE dorește să își extindă cercul de parteneri-cheie într-un context de incertitudine cu privire la relațiile transatlantice, India pare un aliat perfect, fiind cea mai mare democrație din lume din punct de vedere formal, cu o creștere economică și a pieței (inclusiv în domeniul tehnologiilor ecologice) care reprezintă o oportunitate valoroasă pentru întreprinderile din UE.   • The European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) has welcomed the European Oceans Pact, urging the European Commission to ensure it goes beyond a mere statement of intent and becomes a comprehensive framework for action. In its exploratory opinion, adopted during the March plenary, the EESC stresses that for the pact to be effective, it must align with existing EU policies such as the blue economy strategy, the Green Deal, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
