Health (One Health)

The "One Health" concept emerged in the early 2000s with the realisation that human and animal health issues were closely linked to the health of ecosystems.

The idea of "One Health" has recently gained traction, with regard to two areas. Firstly, climate change, which we know has serious health consequences, in particular with the spread of disease-carrying animals such as ticks and mosquitoes. Secondly, the development of pandemics, since 60% of infectious diseases originate in animals. Deforestation and biodiversity loss play a major role in this process.

The aim of the conference on 20 June is to look at how the European Union can be more active in this area, especially through better cooperation among the key stakeholders.

The conference will take place in a hybrid format. The link to connect remotely via the Interactio platform will be sent to all registered participants in due course. Simultaneous interpretation will be available from ES/DE/EN/FR/IT and into ES/DE/EN/FR.
