Single Market, Production and Consumption (INT)

This page is also available in

The Section for the Single Market, Production and Consumption (INT) deals with a rich variety of policy areas related to industry, competition, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and social economy enterprises and the digital economy and society. It also debates and adopts opinions on research and innovation, consumer protection, emerging economic trends such as the circular economy (the section is strongly engaged in the ECESP), and Single Market policies in general.

On issues of particular importance to the Single Market, the Section holds public hearings to consult the broadest possible range of civil society organisations. Every year since 1999, it has also organised the flagship Committee event known as European Consumer Day.

The Section also has an  Observatory of the Digital Transition and the Single Market, to monitor developments in the Digital Single Market and propose ways of eliminating obstacles or making improvements.
