Transport Category

"Transport, connecting Europe"

The primary objective of the Transport Category is to act as a discussion and learning forum for all EESC members interested in transport issues. All players and stakeholders involved in the "transport chain" are invited to participate and to share their experiences with their colleagues. The Category thus provides an additional dimension to the discussions, which take place within the various EESC bodies. The Transport Category typically meets after each Transport, Energy, Infrastructure and the Information Society (TEN) section meeting in order to review the progress made and to discuss any critical dossiers that have been submitted to the section. In addition, the Transport Category holds three extraordinary meetings per year, which focus on specific themes. Furthermore, its members are informed of EU transport developments and issues on a daily basis. Members also have the opportunity to participate in specific study tours. The primary objective of the Transport Category is to act as a discussion and learning forum for all EESC members interested in transport issues.
