In order to prepare its opinion on the Commission's proposal "Europe's Beating Cancer Plan", the EESC is organising a public hearing on 13 April 2021 am.
The aim of the event is to gather input from other EU Institutions, civil society and health professionals. We will debate the following questions:
What are the strengths and weaknesses of the current proposal?
What kind of activities do different actors carry out with respect to beating cancer, and are there any best practices to be shared?
The 7th meeting of the EU-Moldova Civil Society Platform took place on 30-31 March 2021 in the format of a videoconference. During the meeting, a debate focused on assessing the state of play of the implementation of the EU-Moldova Association Agreement. The impact of the COVID 19 pandemic on the socio-economic development of Moldova was also discussed as well as the aspect of digitalisation in health care in Moldova.

The EESC Thematic Study group on Disability Rights is organising a public hearing on 30 March 2021.
The objective of this hearing is to give the floor to one of the groups more hit by the COVID-19 pandemic: persons with disabilities (PWD). In particular, we will look into the situation concerning the prioritization of PWD, or lack of, in the vaccination rollouts within the EU.

In order to prepare its opinion on the recent health package proposed by the European Commission, the EESC is organising a public hearing on "Building a European Health Union" on 29 March 2021.
The aim of the event is to gather input from other EU Institutions, civil society and health professionals.
559th Plenary session of the EESC, with Helena Dalli, European Commissioner for Equality, Olivér Várhelyi, European Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement, and ValdisDombrovskis, Executive Vice-President of the European Commission.
The EU DAG met to prepare the upcoming joint meetings with the Korean counterparts, which would take place 12-13 April. At the meeting, the Members discussed the progress in work on the implementation of the EU-Korea FTA, the trade situation in the context of the pandemic and the recommendations of the Panel of Expert within the dispute settlement procedure under the Trade and Sustainable Development chapter of the EU-Korea FTA.

The European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) held the 12th edition of its yearly youth event Your Europe, Your Say (YEYS) on 18-19 March 2021, on the topic of climate change, in the form of an online model COP (Conference of the Parties) in which more than 100 students from 33 countries took part.
In line with the organisation of a COP, the EESC planned a side event for young people on the morning of Saturday 20 March 2021, in the form of a public virtual event on social media.
