Statement of Support for CISL’s Engagement on Italy’s Budget Law

We support the national mobilisation launched by CISL about the government's budget law proposal.

CISL’s calls for further improvements, such as tax reductions for the middle class, better support for minimum pensions, and the extension of the solidarity contribution to other sectors such as logistics, digital, energy and pharmaceuticals. All these measures are critical steps toward greater equity and fairness. Likewise, their firm stance against cuts to school staff, public services, and funds for non-self-sufficiency underscores the importance of safeguarding social cohesion and ensuring social progress for all.

In these challenging times, CISL’s national mobilisation shows the importance of involving trade unions in the policy process. Only inclusive engagement with trade unions can drive positive change for workers and citizens and truly reflect their needs.
