About

The National Economic and Social Council (NGTT) is an independent consultative, advisory, and proposing body, established to discuss comprehensive issues concerning the development of the Hungarian economy and society, to deliberate on national strategies spanning governmental terms, and to promote the development and implementation of harmonious and balanced economic growth along with corresponding social models. It operates independently from both the National Assembly and the Government.

Membership

The National Economic and Social Council (NGTT) is composed of six sections, each led by its own president. The sections are:

  • Church Section – President: Dr. Ferenc Beran
  • Section of Economic Representatives – President: Dr. Attila Simon
  • Artistic Section – President: Dr. Gábor Richly
  • NGO Section – President: Ádám Gyenes
  • Employees’ Section – President: Csaba Csóti
  • Section of Scientific Representatives – President: Prof. Dr. Gusztáv Báger

Within NGTT, the presidency rotates among the sections. The current president is Prof. Dr. Gusztáv Báger, serving from June 17, 2025, until December 16, 2025.
