The European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) is the voice of organised civil society in Europe.

The EESC issues between 160 and 190 opinions, evaluation and information reports a year.
It also organises several annual initiatives and events with a focus on civil society and citizens’ participation such as the Civil Society Prize, the Civil Society Days, the Your Europe, Your Say youth plenary and the ECI Day.

The EESC brings together representatives from all areas of organised civil society, who give their independent advice on EU policies and legislation. The EESC's326 Members are organised into three groups: Employers, Workers and Various Interests.

In questo episodio vi proponiamo un'immersione nella prossima COP 28 di Dubai, dove il mondo si riunisce per affrontare la questione urgente dei cambiamenti climatici. Ci accompagnano alcune voci significative e perspicaci: la giornalista esperta di questioni climatiche Anna Gumbau, la delegata del CESE per i giovani Diandra Ní Bhuachalla, il fondatore e amministratore delegato di Sustainable Public Affairs Willem Vriesendorp e Jule Könneke dell'Istituto tedesco per gli affari internazionali e la sicurezza.
Il podcast si apre con l'intervento di Anna Gumbau sulla scelta controversa di tenere la COP 28 a Dubai e sulle sfide che i giornalisti devono affrontare per assicurare la copertura mediatica di eventi di questa portata. Diandra Ní Bhuachalla ci parla dell'urgenza di far sentire la voce dei giovani nei dibattiti sul clima ed esprime l'auspicio che si sottoscriva un trattato di non proliferazione dei combustibili fossili.
