Amending the Deforestation Regulation (EU) 2023/1115 as regards provisions relating to the date of application

Since the Committee has already set out its views on the content of the proposal in question in its opinions Deforestation of the Amazon rainforest – impact on climate change and the global environment; consequences for companies, workers and population, adopted on 19/09/2024 and Minimising the risk of deforestation and forest degradation associated with products placed on the EU market, adopted on 23/02/2022, it decided not to draw up a new opinion on the subject, but to refer to the position it had taken in the above-mentioned documents.
