The Multiannual Financial Framework after 2027 - Assessing progress and outstanding challenges
The situation in the process of agreeing on a Multiannual Financial Framework for the years after 2027 has evolved since the Commission presented its proposals in July and September 2025. There is more information available from the co-legislators, with certain broad lines being tentatively agreed, as can be seen from the negotiating box presented by the Cyprus presidency, European Council conclusions and the notably the European Parliament resolution of 28 April 2026 that constitutes the Parliament’s mandate for the political negotiations on the MFF.
The event will take stock of these developments in the negotiations and discuss outstanding challenges in the way to an agreement on a European budget fit for the future.
The event is organised on Wednesday 9.9.2026 starting at 14:15 p.m. and will be webstreamed. No registration is needed and participation is free of charge.
