Dialogue with the Latin America Follow-up Committee: Focus on The Gran Chaco
The afternoon session of the Latin America Follow-up Committee meeting to be held on 24 February 2026 will be dedicated to the Gran Chaco. Organised in collaboration with the multi-actor platform Redes Chaco, the network implementing the EU-supported Impacto Verde initiative, this dialogue will spotlight the challenges and opportunities linking the American Gran Chaco to the EU-Latin America agenda. The programme features three thematic panels:
- The EU-Mercosur Partnership Agreement and its benefits for people and territories;
- Minerals for the green transition, focusing on due diligence and responsible sourcing in the context of the Global Gateway Investment Strategy; and
- Climate-induced migration in the Gran Chaco, with an emphasis on preparedness and adaptation.
Speakers will include representatives from the EU institutions, Members of the EESC, alongside regional experts and civil society leaders from Argentina, Bolivia, and Paraguay. Please find below the agenda of the event.

Alongside the main debates, participants are invited to explore the Photo Exposition dedicated to the Gran Chaco region, on display from 23 to 26 February. Additionally, on 24 and 25 February, attendees can experience the immersive “Gran Chaco Americano 360°” virtual exhibition. This interactive side activity features interactive VR headsets, allowing participants to discover the unique landscapes and vibrant cultures of the Gran Chaco in a unique, innovative and engaging format.
