12th meeting of the EU-Japan Domestic Advisory Group under the EU-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA)

The 12th meeting of the EU Domestic Advisory Group (DAG) under the EU-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) took place on 10 April 2025 at the EESC.

Discussions covered recent EU-Japan trade statistics, implementation of the Trade and Sustainable Development (TSD) Chapter of the EPA, and Japan’s progress on outstanding ratifications of ILO Conventions. Attention was also given to labour market developments, occupational safety and health issues, and updates on Japan’s climate policies in the context of the High-Level Dialogue on Climate Change.

Preparations for the Joint Dialogue with Civil Society and the accompanying workshop in June 2025 were a central focus. Members considered workshop themes and discussed participation logistics, speaker roles, and coordination with Japanese stakeholders to ensure an inclusive and well-prepared exchange.
