The European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) is the voice of organised civil society in Europe.

The EESC issues between 160 and 190 opinions, evaluation and information reports a year.
It also organises several annual initiatives and events with a focus on civil society and citizens’ participation such as the Civil Society Prize, the Civil Society Days, the Your Europe, Your Say youth plenary and the ECI Day.

The EESC brings together representatives from all areas of organised civil society, who give their independent advice on EU policies and legislation. The EESC's326 Members are organised into three groups: Employers, Workers and Various Interests.

Sous quel aspect devrait se présenter une reprise durable pour l’Europe après la COVID-19? Quels sont les principaux atouts sur lesquels l’Union européenne se devrait de s’appuyer pour assurer à ses citoyens un avenir riche en promesses? Ces questions seront au cœur des Journées de la société civile 2021 du CESE, qui se dérouleront en ligne du 1er au 5 mars.
Tout au long de la pandémie, la société civile organisée a joué un rôle capital pour relever les innombrables défis posés par la pandémie de COVID-19, y compris en soutenant des autorités publiques confrontées à des difficultés écrasantes.
De l’expérience concrète ainsi acquise, il résulte qu’elle est capable d’apporter des points de vue précieux dans le débat sur la relance et d’offrir une contribution des plus opportune à la conférence sur l’avenir de l’Europe, au moment où la fin du blocage concernant la présidence de ce rendez-vous libère la voie pour que son lancement puisse avoir lieu en mai.
