The European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) is the voice of organised civil society in Europe.

The EESC issues between 160 and 190 opinions, evaluation and information reports a year.
It also organises several annual initiatives and events with a focus on civil society and citizens’ participation such as the Civil Society Prize, the Civil Society Days, the Your Europe, Your Say youth plenary and the ECI Day.

The EESC brings together representatives from all areas of organised civil society, who give their independent advice on EU policies and legislation. The EESC's326 Members are organised into three groups: Employers, Workers and Various Interests.

The EESC has six sections, specialising in concrete topics of relevance to the citizens of the European Union, ranging from social to economic affairs, energy, environment, external relations or the internal market.

Le 27 décembre dernier, Jacques Delors est décédé. Il a été président de la Commission européenne de 1985 à 1995 et ancien ministre des finances du gouvernement de François Mitterrand de 1981 à 1985.
Sébastien Maillard, l’ancien directeur et actuel conseiller spécial de l’Institut Delors à Paris et ancien correspondant UE à Bruxelles, lui rend un bel hommage.
Lorenzo Consoli, l'un des journalistes les plus connus d'Europe, a également partagé avec les lecteurs de CESE info son témoignage sur le président Jacques Delors.
Lorenzo Consoli, journaliste italien et correspondant européen depuis 1991, est l'un des spécialistes les plus expérimentés de la politique européenne, travaillant notamment pour l'agence de presse italienne Askanews. Il a été président de l'Association de la presse internationale de Bruxelles (API) de 2006 à 2010 et professeur invité dans le cadre du programme Executive Master in European Journalism and Communication à l'IHECS à Bruxelles.
