The European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) is the voice of organised civil society in Europe.

The EESC issues between 160 and 190 opinions and information reports a year.
It also organises several annual initiatives and events with a focus on civil society and citizens’ participation such as the Civil Society Prize, the Civil Society Days, the Your Europe, Your Say youth plenary and the ECI Day.

The EESC brings together representatives from all areas of organised civil society, who give their independent advice on EU policies and legislation. The EESC's326 Members are organised into three groups: Employers, Workers and Various Interests.

Nous inaugurons dans la présente édition de notre lettre d’information CESE info une toute nouvelle rubrique intitulée «Une question à …». Nous poursuivrons prochainement cet exercice de questions et réponses en demandant à des membres du CESE de répondre à une question d’actualité que nous aurons sélectionnée.
Les premières personnalités que nous avons interrogées sont les nouveaux vice-présidents, à qui nous avons posé la question suivante: «Alors que vous entamez votre mandat dans une période de confinement, de distanciation et de relations de travail virtuelles, comment est-il possible, au CESE comme ailleurs, de raviver un esprit de convivialité créative?»
