  • The EU-Chile Domestic Consultative Group (DCG) held its 2nd meeting on 28 September 2026. The meeting reviewed recent political developments in Chile, the state of EU-Chile bilateral relations and the implementation of the EU-Chile Interim Trade Agreement (ITA) and the Advanced Framework Agreement (AFA), with contributions from representatives of the EEAS, DG TRADE, the EU Delegation in Santiago and the Embassy of Chile in Brussels.

  • The EU-Chile Domestic Consultative Group (DCG), held its inaugural meeting on 20 March 2026. The Group established its new structure and elected Antonio García del Riego (EESC, Group I) as Chair for the 2025-2028 mandate. The meeting featured a meaningful exchange with representatives from the European External Action Service (EEAS) and DG Trade on the Group's role and mandate under the new Advanced Framework Agreement. The EU-Chile DCG also discussed priorities for its new mandate, pending the formal establishment of the Chilean DCG.

    The 13th and final meeting of the EU-Chile JCC under the 2002 Association Agreement marked a significant milestone in the EU-Chile partnership. This meeting served as an opportunity to reflect on past achievements and discuss the transition to the new Advanced Framework Agreement, which will reshape and strengthen cooperation between both parties.

    12th meeting of the EU-Chile JCC was held physically in Brussels on 12-13 June 2024. The EESC members and Chilean delegates discussed the transition to a new framework of our bilateral partnership, under the Advanced Framework Agreement, which is expected to enter into force by the end of the year or in early 2025. They also debated the current challenges for democracy in the EU, Chile and across the globe. Among the economic issues, state of play of bilateral trade and technology transfer dominated the discussions. Members also exchanged views on the participation of youth in civil dialogue, and shared good practices of inclusion of young people in the initiatives promoting sustainable development. Prominent on the agenda were also environmental issues, including healthy environment as a human right, climate financing, and the future of the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals.
    The JCC adopted a Joint Declaration.

    La section «Relations extérieures» (REX) du Comité économique et social européen (CESE) est chargée du dialogue entre les organisations européennes de la société civile et leurs homologues des pays avec lesquels l’Union européenne entretient des relations formelles (par exemple sous la forme d’un accord de libre-échange). Grâce à ce dialogue, rendu possible par une série d’organes bilatéraux et par des avis spécialisés et des rapports d’information, le Comité est en mesure de contribuer concrètement à la politique étrangère de l’UE.

    La quatrième réunion du comité consultatif mixte de la société civile UE-Chili (CCM), institué par l'accord d'association UE-Chili, s'est tenue par vidéoconférence le 27 novembre 2019. Lors de cette réunion, les membres ont adopté une déclaration commune.

    Le CCM est composé de dix-huit membres, dont neuf du Comité économique et social européen (CESE) et neuf d'organisations de la société civile chilienne. Il est coprésidé par Josep Puxeu Rocamora, membre du CESE, et Roberto Zúñiga Belauzarán, directeur de la Confédération nationale des micro, petites et moyennes entreprises (CONAPYME).

    La cinquième réunion du comité consultatif mixte de la société civile UE-Chili (CCM), institué par l'accord d'association UE-Chili, s'est tenue par vidéoconférence le 15 mai 2020.

    Les membres ont discuté de sujets d'intérêt pour les deux parties, tels que l'impact de la crise du COVID-19 sur la coopération, le commerce et l'investissement, le travail décent et l'économie informelle et l'Agenda pour le développement durable; ainsi que des propositions de renforcement du rôle du Comité consultatif paritaire. Les membres ont adopté une déclaration finale sur ces sujets.

    Les 6 et 7 décembre 2018, la troisième réunion du comité consultatif mixte UE-Chili de la société civile, créée par l'accord d'association UE-Chili, s'est tenue à Santiago du Chili. Les membres ont discuté de sujets d'intérêt pour les deux parties, tels que l'investissement et la coopération, le travail décent et l'économie informelle, le programme de développement durable et les propositions visant à renforcer le rôle du Comité consultatif paritaire. Ils ont adopté une déclaration finale sur ces quatre sujets.
