The European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) is the voice of organised civil society in Europe.

The EESC issues between 160 and 190 opinions, evaluation and information reports a year.
It also organises several annual initiatives and events with a focus on civil society and citizens’ participation such as the Civil Society Prize, the Civil Society Days, the Your Europe, Your Say youth plenary and the ECI Day.

The EESC brings together representatives from all areas of organised civil society, who give their independent advice on EU policies and legislation. The EESC's326 Members are organised into three groups: Employers, Workers and Various Interests.

Le mardi 17 septembre, le CESE a organisé une projection du film La Salle des profs, lauréat du prix LUX du public européen.
Réalisé par le cinéaste allemand İlker Çatak, le film explore les épreuves auxquelles une enseignante se trouve confrontée, avec en toile de fond les problèmes plus larges que rencontre le système éducatif. À l’issue de la projection, les spectateurs ont pris part à un débat animé par le vice-président du CESE chargé de la communication, Laurențiu Plosceanu. La discussion a bénéficié des éclairages de Jan Wilker et Tatjana Babrauskienė, qui sont intervenus pour analyser les thèmes développés dans le film et leur résonance par rapport à des problématiques sociales présentes dans l’actualité.
Cette projection fait partie d’une série de visionnages que le CESE organise en collaboration avec le prix LUX du public du Parlement européen afin de mettre en avant son engagement et le rôle qu’il joue pour encourager et entretenir le dialogue autour de thématiques sociales qui appellent d’urgence notre attention.
