Stimuler l’utilisation de l’intelligence artificielle dans les micro-entreprises ainsi que les petites et moyennes entreprises européennes

La diversité et le potentiel actuels des applications de l’intelligence artificielle (IA) sont presque illimités, et, aujourd’hui, particuliers et entreprises sont nombreux à utiliser des solutions fondées sur l’IA sans en être conscients. Devant la généralisation de ces technologies innovantes, les micro, petites et moyennes entreprises (MPME) doivent adopter l’IA pour maintenir leur position face à leurs concurrents actuels ou émergents. Nevertheless, several obstacles lead to an adoption gap between markets and/or between large corporations and MSMEs.A recent study shed light on the opportunities and challenges of AI uptake for Europe's MSMEs.

L’intelligence artificielle fait peser un certain nombre de menaces sur les MPME européennes. The main challenges are insufficient awareness of AI benefits amongst company management and lack of skills amongst existing (technical) staff, in addition to lacking or inaccessible data. De la même façon, les conditions du marché extérieur, telles que des cadres juridiques trop restrictifs ou trop larges, peuvent entraver le succès de l’adoption des technologies de l’intelligence artificielle par les MPME.

In order to overcome these challenges and boost the uptake of AI in MSMEs, the study presents a toolbox for policy makers, which includes the following measures:

•    Educate on AI & build the necessary skills in the MSME workforce to remain competitive
•    Enhance centralised access to open data to train and develop AI solutions whilst protecting data ownership and control
•    Expand financial instruments for MSMEs to support AI implementation in their digitalisation effort
•    Ensure a transparent single market for AI solutions to reduce risks and increase transferability for MSMEs
